KANG So-hwi, a beautiful martial arts prodigy, is about to embark on a journey into adulthood. But her journey is like no other. Her super-human strength and martial arts prowess scares away her fellow undergrads and even the boy she has fallen for. Devastated, So-hwi decides to give up martial arts and takes a different path. Her father, a martial artist himself, is afraid of losing an heiress to the family’s martial artistry, and missions So-hwi’s old buddy Ilyoung to persuade her to stay in the field. Meanwhile, the evil Heuk-bong provokes a war to conquer the martial arts world with the legendary Fine Blade he stole in the past, killing every swordsman one after another. So-hwi’s father comes to a showdown with Heuk-bong, but the battle leaves him fatally injured. On the brink of her father’s death, So-hwi picks up a sword again with a burning desire for revenge.



Where do I start with this movie? There were so many sweet and stunning parts but they don't make up for the stupid mistakes of the production staff. This movie lost focus at the end. So-hwi had an unclassified crush on Jun-mo. This crush was so outrageous. I'm surprised Jun-mo didn't up and run from the fear of stalking this girl put on. Jun-mo on the other hand was in love with an older female cop who saved him.

Story from this point on, seemed to keep focus. So-hwy and her "almost" harassment of Jun-mo and Jun-mo's almost stalker like infatuation of the older female cop. Seemed okay. Then enters our other male stud.....Il-young. He has had a crush on So-hwy from the times when they were small children training in martial arts. His stalking was almost on par with So-hwi's with Jun-mo.

Once the male, antagonist enters the picture the story loses grip. What happened with So-hwi's crush? He falls off the face of the earth while she retrains to fight. We learn that Il-young is not who he seems. Somewhere in the story, So-hwi remembers she loved Il-young and tries to save him but somehow the story....something was lost. Don't get me wrong. This was a tooooo cute movie, but I just wished they hadn't rushed the ending.

Okay, the very best part of the movie was when So-hwi does save Il-young. It was a very sweet moment.....but it would have made me cry if they added more. Damn them!!!

In a town on South Korea's east coast, moody Kim Han-su (On Ju-wan) is a talented high school swimmer who wants to be the best -- and not just in Asia. But when his mother, who is suffering from depression, attempts suicide and ends up in a coma, Han-su quits the swim team, despite protests from his coach, and retreats into his own world.

Faced with a large medical bill -- mom had no savings, and dad left years ago -- Han-su ends up robbing convenience stores. Meanwhile, the hormonal youth has started fantasizing about an attractive, married neighbor, music teacher Yu In-heui (Kim Ho-jeong), who he watches playing piano across the way. When a pair of her panties blow off a clothesline, they end up in his hands -- and more.

Film's early scenes clearly establish Han-su's private world with a touch of unreality that prepares the viewer for subsequent events. Script takes its biggest gamble in a scene where In-heui bumps into Han-su and bluntly asks him (a) whether it was he who stole her underwear, and (b) whether he masturbated with it. He, equally bluntly, asks to have sex with her and she refuses; but she does come by regularly to give him hand-jobs, and the two start a secret, low-key romance.

It's a measure of the film's command of mood to that point that this whole section -- marbled with straight-faced humor -- works. Further weirdness develops with the arrival of In-heui's stepdaughter, Min-ji, who's been spending time in a sanatorium due to what she claims was a rape. She takes a liking to Han-su and immediately suggests they start dating; later, however, In-heui warns Han-su that he should be careful, as Min-ji is still "sick."

Even stranger things are happening in the hospital where Han-su's mom lies unconscious. One night, he secretly witnesses a young woman, Mi-jin, ending the life of her own mother in the bed opposite. But it's this act which eventually leads Han-su to liberate himself.



Wow! Umm? This was weird to the 100th power. It started out really interesting. Umm, watching Han-soo masterbate was a little "thrilling". *heh-heh*

I don't really understand the last 30 minutes of the movie. It threw me for a loop. I think it wasn't supposed to be literal. I mean....hell, I don't know what I mean. I don't know if he really died when he was out in the ocean and everything after that wasn't real. Because from that point on, everything else didn't make sense. His mom wakes from a coma, gets up walks down the hall naked and not a single person seemed to notice....so was she really dead? Hell, it was all so freakin' confusing. Somehow, this movie went from really intriguing to ALL WRONG.

So if you are willing to watch this movie, even if it's for the eye candy factor, go right on ahead. I won't stop you. Just so as you know the last part will screw your mind and don't come to me crying because I'm still dumbfuzzled.........

Tae-su, a tough-as-nails gang-squad cop in Seoul, is drawn back to his hometown Onseong when his high school pal Wang-jae, a crook gone straight and certainly no wimp, is murdered in an alley behind his little bar. Once home, Tae-su reconnect with the remnants of his circle, Pil-ho, Dong-hwan and Seok-hwan, summoning up memories of the crazy scrapes that cemented their friendship. Tae-su’s instincts tell him that Wang-jae’s death was no random tragedy, and he elects to lurk around for a few days and beat the bushes. The bushes beat back, and Tae-su barely escapes a swarm of teenage hoods with the able assistance of Seok-hwan. The stakes are raised, the pieces are coming together, and the scrappy quartet of buddies is beginning to fall apart. Before long, Tae-su and Seok-hwan will charge headfirst into a sea of enemies, battling their way to the core of a corrupt, criminal empire with every last ounce of strength they have.



All I can say is........is WOW!! This is a totally cool movie of Korean whoop-ass! The fights were awesome. Totally in sync, choreographed perfectly. It was so good that my husband caught half of it and actually lied down beside me to watch it and he NEVER watches my Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese stuff with me. He even said that he was amazed at how good this was. So that is another "thumbs up" for this movie. Sugoi!

There were a few funny scenes. A flashback when the guys were in high school and got caught by a gang and were buried neck down in dirt. They didn't want to look like wimps crying for help so they sang songs at the top of their lungs to catch attention. LOL! And the scene near the end when Tae-su and Seok-hwan are fighting their way to Pil-ho and end up in a room of couples eating. Let's just say the females in Korean tradition quietly left the room and the men stand up with knives and the dynamic duo have a look of utter annoyance. Too funny! Oh, but the action was totally wonderful. A definite guy movie but I, a female, loved it too.

Flying Boys (Ballet Gyoseubso~2004)

Kang Min-jae, a senior at Taesung High School, lives with his stern father, who's a captain of a famous airline. He has liked a blunt and staunch girl named Hwangbo Soo-jin in the same apartment building but he never had the courage to go up and talk to her. Soo-jin lives in a family that puts the son on the pedestal, she has no room to escape the pettiest housework even while she's studying for the college entrance exam.

After the exam, Min-jae has a drink with his buddies and then sneaks out with his dad's car. On the way, he discovers a victim to a hit-and-run accident. Yang Jung-sook, a ballet instructor at the community center in the district, sees Min-jae and the body. Jung-sook, having difficulties in finding enough students for her class, threatens Min-jae, who she caught drinking and driving without a license, and drags him and his two friends to learn ballet. Meanwhile, Soo-jin's parents also forces Soo-jin to learn ballet to get rid of her stiff and boyish appearance.

Finally, Soo-jin, Min-jae and his buddies, Dong-wan, and Chang-sub, meet at the ballet school at the Hwangkeum community center. With Yang Jung-sook at the center of the ballet school, various people from all walks of life learn ballet. While they all clash and open each other's hearts to one another, they finally come together in a memorable performance in the end.

This was an all-round good movie. It didn't get rave reviews but I seriously liked it. The only thing I didn't like was a completion of Min-Jae's and Soo-jin's relationship. I was a little left hanging there but in all it was a definitely good movie. I won't lie. I 'bout spewed my soda out my nose during the scene where Min-Jae and Dong-wan were putting on their dancing gear for the first time. OMG! That was the best hilarious 10 minutes of my life and then coming out of the dressroom only to have put them on wrong and the entire class to witness it. Oh God! That was a riot. And the next best scene, not a funny moment, was when Min-jae's dad beat him up outside and Min-jae confessed he hated his father and missed his mother while sobbing. Oh, that choked me up beyond belief. Then Soo-jin chased him....such a tender moment. Ack! Tears forming again. It's hard to see a grown man cry. Loved it immensely!

I can't stop! Every picture of Jun Ki is exceptional. OMG! Okay, I must revise my hunkiest Asian man list. Lee Jun Ki is the most prettiest, finest, gorgeous specimen. I want to see his parents. The genes they gave him were of the highest quality. Does he have brothers and sisters? Damn. Every part of him is PERFECT! And he is the most popular of all Korean actors. He isn't a retard in the acting genre. This man can act. So whatever girl this man chooses will be the luckiest female on earth. He was in Virgin Snow. Lovely movie. A must see. I'm going to be having the most erotic of dreams tonight. Oh geez. I think I might be on a Lee Jun Ki movie and drama hunt. The long hair has me turned on. What drama or movie was that? I'm sure I'll find out! Whew!
