Oh! Brothers stars Jung-Jae Lee as Sang-wu, a jaded paparazzi photographer who deals with the less-than-moral side of life. Squeezed for money by a crooked detective, Sang-wu is forced to become a debt collector, a profession he finds little success in.
His problems become exacerbated when his estranged father dies and leaves him with a surprise: Bong-gu (Beom-su Lee), his 12-year-old half-brother who looks to be in his mid-30s due to a rapid aging disorder.
This is a freaking top-notch movie. I loved it! Loved, loved, loved it! From the very beginning of the movie...(OMG! It's hilarious!) to the end. It was exquisitely made for a comedy.
From the beginning when Sang-woo extorts money from the couple who are having an affair, he gets $200,000 (won) for bogus pictures the couple think of them. Nope. They are pictures of pigs and a pig farm. As Sang-woo runs out of the restaurant, the expressions on their exposed faces was priceless.
To the end, when Sang-woo sends his brother a picture, but it wasn't just that but the feeling of satisfaction. Some Korean endings leave you either in disgust or unfulfilled. Rarely do they end the way you want or happily. This one was worth every minute of this movie. Satisfied? Yes. Gratified? Yes. Am I happy? Deliriously so.

On a sunny afternoon, Kit and Chul-soo were eating ice cream on top of a car’s hood. The girls were looking good and their best friend Crocodile had gone into marine reserves’ training. Hippo visits to consult with crocodile about a new drug trade, but crocodile had already left. Hippo looks for someone to work for him where the two scums come into play. From then on, things head downhill. They’re asked to pay the price for the lost bag of dope and later become accused of stealing the bag.
Whatever… They decide to run for life with a bag of coke that can make them rich.
This movie was all over the place. Okay the beginning was a little messed up, it came together, then got weirder and weirder and weirder. Gotta love Jang Hyuk. Damn, he's funny but can be so serious but when he's funny....he's funny. I love his facial expressions. They are so over exaggerated. LOL! But yet that is just him. Ya know?
Anyway, this movie was fun but don't expect this story to make sense. It was just a hoopla of corny situations, drugs, some fighting (but nothing you'd expect...not Jackie Chan style), sex (oh yes, we get to see Hyuk in all his muscular glory), some funny moments (LOL! Cheol-su has only one testicule).
I think most will like this movie but then some will probably hate it. I think this movie is just for those of us who love Jang Hyuk and Bong Tae Gyu (yeah, he's in it too). This movie is definitely a boredom buster...................

The Contact ( Cheob-sok / 접속 -1997)

Starring:
Suk-kyu Han - Dong-hyun
Do-yeon Jeon - Su-heon
Supporting Cast
Sang Mi Chu
Yong Soo Park
Cheol-ho Choi
Tae-woo Kim
Beom-su Lee
The debut feature of Jang Yoon-Hyun (Tell Me Something), The Contact explores the universal human need for connection. It’s just another take on the popular tale of alienation in the urban wasteland, but Jang’s ability to sponge viewers’ emotions adds beauty to an otherwise bleak and common story.
The film is about how a heavily wired society has changed the way people communicate. Unlike most technophobic films, though, Jang explores the way normal people try to overcome this and form real bonds.
Jang’s central characters start out as strangers, with no reason to meet.
Crossing paths countless times throughout the film, they are unaware of each other and how their lives are connected. Radio producer Dong-Hyun (Han Suk-Kyu) and home shopping telemarketer Su-Hyun (Jun Do-Yun) are too haunted by their past loves to notice how life is passing them by. Unable to untangle themselves from the past, they wander through life aimlessly, trapped in their personal bubble of loneliness.
Until they meet on the Internet.
The two are then drawn together by their common interest in Velvet Underground’s music, and what began as a casual electronic chat soon blooms into love. Such is the great mystery of modern life: how two people who have not met can fall in love. Admittedly, words can warm bare souls, but there’s just so much intimacy that can be achieved virtually. -- The Star
Wow! This was a slow movie but it wasn't the boring type of slow. You generally learned about the main characters and their lives. Again, another movie, sort of about fate.
So many times our main characters met each other but didn't really notice the other. You seem to sit there hoping that eventually one or the other will take notice. But the internet intervened and they met through a forum that was hosted by Dong-hyun's radio station. Romance? Not yet. Actually I wouldn't call this a romance. They talked online but never really connected. In the end, when you think snow will fall, romance will bloom. Well, I was a bit confused by the ending. They finally meet but that was it......I didn't feel the connection which really made me angry because I was hoping for some kind of declaration or something.
So, the movie was really good but the ending left me lifeless. For some this might hit the spot but not for me. So that was strange. The movie was sooooo good then came the ending.........

Wet Dreams (몽정기/Mongjunggi-2002)

Starring:
Beom-su Lee - Byung-chul
Seon-a Kim - Yoo-ri
Jae-hong Ahn - Young-jae
Neul Ha - Girl student in classroom doorway
Dae-Hoon Jeong - Sang-min
Jae-hyeong Jeon - Seok-goo
Ae-kyeong Kim - English Teacher
Jong-min Kim - PE Teacher
Ki-yeon Kim - So-jung
Hyeong-jin Kong - Min-soo
Hyung-ok Noh - Dong-hyun
Yeong-im Kim
Dong-hyun, Seok-gu, Sang-min and Young-je are typical adolescent high school boys deeply curious about sexual matters. When a female apprentice teacher, Ms. Kim Yoo-ri (Kim Seon-ah) begins teaching at their all boys’ school, she captures the lust and imagination of four of her students, who cannot stop fantasizing about her.
Dong-hyun’s secret 'love' for his teacher is shattered by news of her affections for another teacher Mr Gong (Lee Beom-soo). Yoo-ri has already fallen for the homeroom teacher, Mr Gong, and has her own daydreams about what it would be like with him.
Unfortunately, Mr Gong has forsaken love in his life, and is immune to her come-ons. Yoo-ri must get him to accept her advances, while rejecting the rapid-fire advance of her four students.
LOL! Okay, this wasn't the best Kim Seon-a movie ever but then again this was probably one of her first. She is definitely young in this movie. So this wasn't her typical "I love Lucy" comedy she usually pulls out of her hat. In actuality, the funny stuff wasn't even from her but from the four male students in her class.
This could be considered the Korean version of the American Pie fame. Boys, adolescence, sexuality, and porn. LOL! The boys themselves had me laughing so hard from fingering melons, rubbing their "units" on poles at the playground, to "rooting" bowls of instant ramen. OMG! What a riot.
I even have to say the ending was awesome but a little farfetched. Let's just say I thought the question the male teacher asked the student teacher was too much since they really never dated. But hey.....it was a romance and you have to admit that most of us would have sighed and said "aaahhhhh".
Thumbs up on a Korean classic for all countries, makes, and models. You don't have to be Korean to understand and remember youth...................

Detective Chun Jae In thinks that she is about to break a huge child prostitution ring, but when she finds that she has really ruined a much higher-level undercover operation, she is embarrassed and humiliated. Despite this, an important new mission arises that requires her unique talents – i.e. her ability to dress up and convince as a school-girl. She must go undercover once again, this time in a school, under the pretence of being a new student so that she can ensure the safety of the daughter of an important Mafia witness that the police want to locate. Before long she finds her maths skills challenged, her fighting skills honed on the school bullies and her heart melted by a fellow student. But will she be able to stay focussed on the mission, capture the bad guys and save the day?
Aye-yi-yi! That was pretty good. Gotta love Kim Seon-ah! That woman'll make you laugh until you pee yourself. She is a natural. I think I've loved all of her movies. Not a one have I not liked. How can we forget the Lovely Sam-Soon! HEHE!
I will say this though. I was going for her with Detective Joh at the beginning before I realized he was the "bad" guy. Ugh! You know that hate-love relationship....they can't stand each other then realize they like each other? That was what I was hoping for. But hey, No-young, wasn't a bad choice either. How can we not love Gong Yoo? The man has a bod that won't quit! Whew! As a matter of fact, if I haven't already said this, the Coffee Prince was my very first Kdrama...ever! That is the one that started it all. So in all....I thank you Gong Yoo for being such a hottie to keep me coming for more!! LOL!

Project Makeover (Eonni-ga ganda/언니가 간다-2007)

Starring:
So-young Ko ... Na Jung-ju/Alice
An Jo ... Na Jung-ju
Geon Yu ... Oh Tae-hoon
Jung-mun Lee ... Jo Hani
Beom-su Lee ... Oh Tae-hoon
Dal-su Oh ... Jung-ju's father
Ji-young Ok ... Jin Seon-mi
Jung-min Kim ... Jo Hani
Mi-hee Oh ... Jung-ju's mother
Yeong-seo Park ... Staff at Talent Show
Jong-shin Yun ... Mr. Yoon
Yeon-ju Lee
Bon-woong Ko
The film opens with Jeong Ju, a thirty year old girl working a dead end job as a fashion assistant whose life is going nowhere, apparently due to the fact that she was betrayed back in high school by her supposed sweetheart Jo Hani, who has since gone on to become a famous singer. Fortunately for her, one day her Microsoft Windows, instead of crashing, offers her the chance to travel back in time to try and persuade her past self to take a different route.
Magically transported back to 1994, Jeong Ju poses as her cousin Alice, and quickly insinuates herself into the life of her teen self (played by actress Jo An, also in “Holiday”). Jeong Ju hopes to change the future by persuading the younger Jeong Ju to switch her affections from the vain, floppy-fringed ladies man Jo (Lee Joong Moon) to a socially inept, though kind hearted nerd called Tae Hoon, who she happens to know will grow up to be a multimillionaire in the future.
Ehh. This movie was okay. I saw all the reviews from other viewers and thought this would be a great one. It didn't trip my trigger. It was cute and all but not loveable worthy. Even the eye-candy didn't help.
With all the time travel you'd think there would have been changes in the future. It didn't happen. I thought that was weird so it was hard for me to comprehend the value of this movie. Yes, I understand that she learned a great deal of Tae-hoon and that changed how she felt in the future but I felt other things should have changed too. Yes, I saw what the movie was about...how her future with Tae-hoon changed. Maybe I expected toooooooo much and got toooooooo little out of it.
As for my usual postings of eye-candy. I couldn't really find good ones of Yoo Geon but have never had Lee Jung Mun posted yet. And, of course, he's practically new so his picture value is little. This was the only decent picture of him I could find. I'm sure I could have found more but it's early in the morning and I've yet to get my caffeine fix. Sorry.

As shy, awkward and, frankly, nerdy as she is, 25 year old public official Na Young-ju has little hope of landing a boyfriend. But then a game of chance designates her as the member of her office staff who will take English courses—much to her horror. In the same class, she encounters show salesman Park Moon-su, who fancies himself a dashing ladies’ man. He’s studying English in part to communicate with his long-lost American sister, but mostly for the purpose of wielding exotic pick-up lines, and is soon deploying them at the less-than-impressed Cathy, the pretty Australian teaching the class. But while Park flirts with Cathy, it’s Young-ju who finds herself mooning after the handsome if self-absorbed fellow.
ROFLMAO! Is English really that hard? Imagine an English speaking person learning Korean. That's me. That's HARD!! I don't think I'll ever learn.
English being the "international" language, I'm told is taught as a primary second language in most non-English speaking countries. I took Espanol and Francais. LOL! I'm now teaching myself Japanese....slooooooowly.
This movie had me rolling on the floor laughing. It was the sweetest and cutest thing I've seen in awhile. At the end, *sigh*.....................So sweet! This was an ingenious idea to have them learn English and fall in love at the same time. I have to admit though, poor Jang Hyuk, really doesn't speaka da English well. But it was endearing as he sputtered it out.....*sigh*
Jang Hyuk

Umm? Is it getting a little hot in here? OMG! Umm, he's getting better and BIGGER! OMG! OMG!

Make It Big (Ildan dwieo, 일단 뛰어 -2002)

Starring:
Seung-heon Song - Sung-hwan
Beom-su Lee - Jin-won
Sang-woo Kwone - Woo-sup
Yeong-jun Kim - Ji-hyung
Jeong-eun Lim - Yu-jin
Three high school students - Sung-hwan. Woo-sup and Jin-won are on their way back from a birthday party for Sung-hwan's father. Several minutes later, a huge lump of cash and a bloody corpse crash on top of their car. With only a split second to decide, there is no option left for them... Meanwhile, a dedicated young detective named Ji-hyung, suspects Sung-hwan, Woo-sup and Jin-won of hiding the money, and watches every move they make. In the meantime, the real thieves and a ruthless gang are looking to get their money back. After the case gets terminated, Sung-hwan, Woo-sup and Jin-won secretly go to the place where Sung-hwan stashed the money. They look inside a pit to discover a new surprise waiting for them.
Can you say "double heaven"? Kwon Sang Woo and Song Seung Hun......HEAVEN!
This movie was a fun flick of 3 high school guys (I think they should have found younger characters because it was hard to believe these three were seniors in high school! All 3 of the guys are my age and in 2002 they were in their early 30's or upper 20's. Hello?). But.....the characters they played fit them all so well. I laughed so much because Kwon Sang Woo's character was a boy whore. LOL! Just the eye candy alone will keep you interested but their chemistry as comedians was superb. Kwon and Song are so well matched! I can't wait to see their new movie Fate once it makes it on the big internet fansub rush. Whew!
Kwon Sang Woo
Song Seung Hun

Tae-su, a tough-as-nails gang-squad cop in Seoul, is drawn back to his hometown Onseong when his high school pal Wang-jae, a crook gone straight and certainly no wimp, is murdered in an alley behind his little bar. Once home, Tae-su reconnect with the remnants of his circle, Pil-ho, Dong-hwan and Seok-hwan, summoning up memories of the crazy scrapes that cemented their friendship. Tae-su’s instincts tell him that Wang-jae’s death was no random tragedy, and he elects to lurk around for a few days and beat the bushes. The bushes beat back, and Tae-su barely escapes a swarm of teenage hoods with the able assistance of Seok-hwan. The stakes are raised, the pieces are coming together, and the scrappy quartet of buddies is beginning to fall apart. Before long, Tae-su and Seok-hwan will charge headfirst into a sea of enemies, battling their way to the core of a corrupt, criminal empire with every last ounce of strength they have.
All I can say is........is WOW!! This is a totally cool movie of Korean whoop-ass! The fights were awesome. Totally in sync, choreographed perfectly. It was so good that my husband caught half of it and actually lied down beside me to watch it and he NEVER watches my Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese stuff with me. He even said that he was amazed at how good this was. So that is another "thumbs up" for this movie. Sugoi!
There were a few funny scenes. A flashback when the guys were in high school and got caught by a gang and were buried neck down in dirt. They didn't want to look like wimps crying for help so they sang songs at the top of their lungs to catch attention. LOL! And the scene near the end when Tae-su and Seok-hwan are fighting their way to Pil-ho and end up in a room of couples eating. Let's just say the females in Korean tradition quietly left the room and the men stand up with knives and the dynamic duo have a look of utter annoyance. Too funny! Oh, but the action was totally wonderful. A definite guy movie but I, a female, loved it too.
A must see movie!!!!
Ahn Jae Mo
Jung Doo Hong
These were just a few of the guys. Many I couldn't find or they weren't good quality pics or I've posted many pics of them before.
