The drama's full title is "Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei." The concept is based on Japan's proposal for an emergency medical service using helicopters to quickly reach those in need. A special bill was passed in June 2007 that should foster widespread adoption of the system. Yamashita stars as a young doctor-in-training, working under the guidance of an experienced "flight doctor" (Toshiro Yanagiba). Okay, I downloaded the first episode that is finally....YES, FINALLY....subbed in English. Agh. I thought we'd never get to see it. Anyway, this will be what I know so far about the series....per episode 1. And, yes, I will be downloading the rest.

This was an awesome show.

Yamapi's character in more like a genious doctor. His faults are, though he maybe gifted and talented as a newbie doctor, he's very cold. He doesn't have the gifted bedside manner and he treats his fellow newbies in the same fashion. I do believe though we might see a love interest with his fellow newbie...Shiraishi.

I will also add the character who plays Fuikawa, Asari Yosuke, was a little goofie but he'll be the doctor that contains the heart. He was very loving towards the girl who had juvenile diabetes. His last scenes had me tearing up. I really, really, really like him.

What's left are the girls. I'm still wishy-washy on them.

I will keep all my fellow English speakers, and non-English speakers, informed as the serious and subbed episodes come along. LOL!

I have to say I giggled and "ooooh'ed and ahhhh'ed" throughout the entire show. They were so cute when they were younger. I'm trying to guess how old they are. My son is 13 and looks older than them but they portrayed like they were in early high school or maybe junior high.

This was a sweet show. There isn't one person who wouldn't have liked this show. It was sweet and innocent love, coming of age romance and friendship. Totally watch worthy.

After finally watching the drama, (yes, I had to watch it because I had to redeem the movie), I was pleasantly surprised. It was worth the time and effort and realistically made the movie seem a little better. I guess not having seen either and watching the movie first was not wise. That explains the reason the movie was so confusing. But, they shouldn't have shoved so much info into the movie for those of us that had never seen Kurosagi.......*duh*

I was hoping for more of a relationship from Yoshikawa and Kurosaki. But, the show wasn't really about them, but more of an emotional rollercoaster for Kurosaki. We get to see him come out of his shell gradually.

I think there should at least be another season of Kurosagi....maybe after Yoshikawa becomes the prosecutor she was dreaming to be. A face-off between the two would be a really exciting show and/or movie. Seeing them come together for the good would be an interesting prospect. But, eh, I'm just a stay-at-home mom....what do I know? LOL!

Eiga:Kurosagi is based on a manga that sold over 300,000 sets and went on to become a popular television drama. In the movie, Tomohisa Yamashita plays a swindler who cooly decieves other swindlers who have evil intentions. The swindlers who decieve others with words are the "shirosagi". The swindlers who play with people's feelings are "akasagi". And the one who only aims to take large sums of money from shirosagi and akasagi is Kurosaki aka Kurosagi.



I was NOT impressed with this movie. It was alright but not great. I'm being told the drama series was much better. The movie made no sense. And what the heck was Horikita Maki's role in the movie. She wasn't an antagonis, a protagonist, a love, a friend. I think she was just there was name's sake since she is a popular Japanese actress. Her character made no benefit to the storyline other than she bumped into Kurosaki all the dang time. What gives? She was a waste of writer's ink, space and time. Not her herself but the character she played.

*Okay, Maki is a big deal in the drama series. They downplayed her role in the movie which was a stupid move on the producer and director's part!*

The trailer sounds all good. I just can't believe how disappointing this movie was. I'm such a Yamapi fan. Why did they screw up such a good character and drama with this disorganized piece of junk....I mean, movie?

The "Byakkotai" were a group of 19 samurai youths ( all aged 16-17 ) who committed "harakiri" or ritual suicide as they looked down at their castle from the top of Iimoriyama Hill. On seeing smoke rising from the castle they presumed it was on fire and all was lost. (In fact, the castle itself was not on fire). This Memorial Hall is dedicated to their tragic story and also has details about the last Aizu clan leader.



OMG! This story was BEAUTIFUL! A MUST SEE! The best drama ever for Yamashita Tomohisa. I've a new found respect for his acting skills. Hell, even for Tanaka Koki. I really saw these guys as just teen idols until I saw the most amazing acting skills that came out of this show. The story was so terribly sad. And yeah, I cried through most of it. I knew something horrible was coming...and then BAM! I'm still sniffling........

As an American this reminded me of our own young during the Civil War. The time period is the same. The young men who went out to war for their "side" and for their families welfare. I think now of the new found respect our soldiers go through for our countries.

If you are wanting to learn more about the history of Japan....this drama is great one to start. God, I really loved this!!

I'm not adding any hottie pics only because I think that would take away respect for this show and for those boys who really died for their cause. Most of the characters were real. I can't do it.

Four schoolboys find themselves the last virgins left at school. During the summer holidays, a girl they knew as children 11 years ago, moves back to the neighborhood. Despite their childhood attraction to her, they realize she is a mere shadow of the "princess" they all thought they knew. This story of summer - love, friendship, school, family, the hypocrisy of adults, complications of life, experience and failure is set in an everyday shopping district and shows the clumsiness of children who have developed a little later than their peers. It's a bright romantic comedy that both young and old can appreciate. --TBS

OMG! I found another awesome drama! This is highly recommended for all teens (beware parents some nudity in 2-3 episodes but not lengthy). This was funny, poignant, sad, naive, hopeful, and reminiscent of high school life. You can't help but stand up and clap at how the parents tried so hard to keep their kids "pure". Then as many times as the guys swore to their abstinance they couldn't help but wish for their first time. LOL! God knows how much money they spent on condoms and never used them.

It was a funny romp with serious undertones. I think most girls would hope to have those 4 guys to be their first. Friends are usually our first crushes and loves. And are deemed worthy to defend and protect us from foul play. These guys showed their true colors when Chie's honor was crushed. Stand Up was the perfect name for this show. I don't know how many times I wanted to "Stand Up" and cheer for the great episodes and acts of courage these guys had to go through.

This was a wonderful eye-opener for the puberty ridden kid. Consequences on both sides. Is it worth it now or to wait? Kume Naoya was the perfect protagonist and antagonist for love and sex. Totally loved this show.

I love a good show that has a story and hidden meanings that go along with it. Hey, and add some members of the Japanese Brat Pack and there ya go!!

"Someday, Somewhere, By chance."

Suzuki Anne plays Etsuko Shinomura, a girl who wants to start a girl's crew team at her school. However, in order to do so she needs to find at least 4 other members. She is met with many challenges during each episode - ie. finding enough members, bearing the weight of being captain, going through training, and experiencing some setbacks. However, with the help of her coach, childhood friend (Nishikido Ryo), and the rest of the boy's rowing team, she and the rest of her team are able to overcome those obstacles. Etsuko Shinomura, at first glance, seems to be a courageous and active girl. Actually, she has low self-esteem but hides it by acting boldly. She's a typical teenager who is interested in boys. Etsuko lives with her family: her always cheerful mother, her father who runs a dry cleaning shop, and her lighthearted grandmother. Four years ago, her older sister entered the prestigious Kyoto University. Since childhood, Etsuko hated being compared with her smart sister. Although she successfully entered the famous Matsuyama High School this spring, she soon falls behind the others. One day, she happens to see four boys from the school's boat team rowing in unison. This sight lights a fire in Etsuko's heart, and she is determined to establish a girl's boating club. The problem is, not only does she hate sports, she also has anemia. Despite her difficulties, she actively takes part in forming a new club.

Hiroyuki Sekino is Etsuko's neighbor and a member of the boy's boat team. He used to be overweight when he was younger, but now, he's turned into a tall handsome young man. He has a lot of friends because of his friendly personality. Hiroyuki is always in a good mood. What his friends don't know is that when he was a member of his middle school's soccer club, the pressure caused him to have a breakdown. At home, his parents' attention always went to his smart young brother. Etsuko has an uneasy feeling when she finds out how much girls at school like Hiroyuki. When they were kids, Hiroyuki and Etsuko never got along. Always fighting and quarreling, Hiroyuki once pushed Etsuko off a jungle gym. What Etsuko doesn't know is that Hiroyuki always has had a crush on her.

Saburo Nakata belongs to the Rugby club. His tall figure and handsome looks capture the girls' attention at school. Contrary to his idol-like looks, Saburo is actually a serious and dedicated guy. Brought up in an all-female family, he's seen plenty of the negative side of women. That's why Saburo is a bit timid when it comes to romance. He's not only brilliant, he's also a great athlete and is hoping to enter the prestigious Tokyo University. His dream is to get a job that will touch people's hearts. Saburo's "never give up" attitude is a positive influence on Etsuko and the girls who tend to give up easily.

Rie Yano is the typical honor student. She shoulders the burden of her parents' expectations and is aiming to enter a national university and go to medical school. Rie is moved when she sees how dedicated and passionate Etsuko is when it comes to the girl's boat club, and decides to join the club herself. She has a tough time balancing her studies and club activities, but with her rich knowledge of Science, Rie makes a big contribution as a member of the maintenance crew. As the expert mechanic, she makes her presence on the team felt by all.

Taeko Kikuchi stands out in the boat team with her bright-colored hair and pierced ears. Before joining the team, her strong personality gave the false impression that Taeko was the leader of a group of juvenile delinquents. But when she became friends with Etsuko and was moved by her passion for boats, Taeko joins the team. Soon, she becomes an essential member of the team. Her only weak point is that she's short-tempered.

Hitomi Ohno was the star member of the award-winning girl's squad when Matsuyama High School previously had a girl's boat team. When Etsuko asks Hitomi to coach her team, she happily accepts, and teaches the girls the excitement of rowing. Hitomi's husband Ken, is the coach of the boy's boat club and still active in boat rowing. They've been married for four years, but Ken's worries about continuing the sport has created a gap between the couple.

Yukio Shinomura is Etsuko's father and the owner of a dry cleaning store. He takes pride in what he does and refuses to buy computers and other new equipment for his store. Yukio likes to do it the old-fashioned way. While Yukio is always displaying his love and affection for Etsuko's elder sister, he seems strict when it comes to Etsuko. He often calls her a good-for-nothing, but Etsuko doesn't know that her father says these things to hide his true feelings. Yukio actually loves Etsuko more than anybody and cares for her greatly. He soon becomes the leader of the group cheering for Etsuko's boat club. ~~FujiTV

This story was strong and inspiring. Nothing like the previous dramas I've seen. Not long, drawn out, until you can't stand it no more, that you have to fast forward to the last episode to put yourself out of your misery, type drama. It was enjoyable for every second of it. It would have been nice to see another season.

What happened to Shinamuro Etsuko and Sekino Hiroyuki? That was left to our imaginations. Ugh.

This story will leave you with a happy feeling but yet sad at the same time. You'll relive your high school days (if your as old as me) and wish to go back to those joyous years of springtime youth. *sigh*

Nishikido Ryo

Ryo-kun is a member of the Japanese boy band, NEWS and KATANI8. He is also a co-member with Yamashita Tomohisa. I was pleasantly surprised with Ryo-kun. He is not only pleasant to look at but evidently a wonderful actor. He had me believing in him. Great job. I've seen him in other dramas and am proud to say that I can't wait to see more of him. *kiss, kiss, kiss, hug, kiss*

Taguchi Junnosuke

Junnosuke-kun is another member of the popular Japanese boy band, KAT-TUN! Not as popular as Kame or Jin, he is special in his own way. Junno-kun is more wholesome in a sense. He has more of the pretty face and has the best smile of them all, IMO. I have yet to see him in a sort of bad boy image but yet I can't see him in that way and I'm assuming the roles he is given are in the same agreement.

I will start by saying that was an unexpected pleasure to watch. Totally different than what I had expected with an ending of mixed results. I shed some tears of happiness and sadness all at the same time. This was an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. You find yourself crossing your fingers hoping that all the students get into Toudai (Tokya University).

Yamashita Tomohisa, Yamapi as his most extreme fans call him, was "sugoi" (wonderful). I already fell for him in Nobuta wo Produce but this one drama with him in it totally struck a cord with me.

Why is it the Japanese are so capable of telling stories of teens, hope, future and love so compassionately? I've already decided that my kids will be watching these types of shows when they are able to understand.

Sakuragi Kenji is a destitute lawyer and one-time member of a motorcyle gang trying to guide failing high school students with an average score of 36 into Japan's most prestigious educational institution, Tokyo University (Toudai).

"If you want to change your life, get into Toudai!"

For no other reason than Sakuragi's personal ambition, he has advertised his intention to produce 5 successful Toudai applicants from the students of a nearly bankrupt failure of a school.

"If you want to change your life, get into Toudai!" He will get them from this lowest of all schools into Japan's number one!!

Our protagonist, Sakuragi Kenji, played by Abe Hiroshi in his first role as a high school teacher, is a must see in this summer's new show. This third rate lawyer soon becomes the homeroom teacher for the special advanced class aiming for Toudai University entrance. Hasegawa Kyouko costars as english teacher and Sakuragi's opponent, and Yamashita Tomohisa from NEWS and Nagasawa Masami also appear in the role of students. In addition to revealing essential test taking techniques for everyone who wants to know how to get into Toudai, Dragon Zakura will also teach the essentials of living one's life.

This drama was totally uplifting and, I won't deny it, left me wanting to go study hard, hop on a plane to Tokyo and apply to Toudai! LOL! Okay, maybe drive to Austin and apply to Texas University. HEHE! "Hook'em Horns!"

I've seen Abe Hiroshi so many times, it's not funny. He has been many dramas especially those with my Kimura Takuya. I love KimuTaku. And he's going to be in the new drama Change with Takuya-kun too! Man! Two men my age and hot to boot!

Long Love Letter

Holy crap! This story went in a totally different direction than I thought it would in the very first episode. Let's just say there is an earthquake and after that it's NOT what you would expect.

I don't want to give away too much only because I'll blow the whole story. It's about a teacher, a former-teacher-now-florist, 22 high school kids, other teachers, and a janitor. It's about an unexpected event after an earthquake in Japan. It's about the future, the past, and the present. It's about friendship, love, transcending space and time. It's definitely about hope.

The gist of the story is not only a love story but about earth awareness. Do you cherish the rain as it falls? Does the bud of a new plant bring you hope? Are you blessed with what you have? Do you live for the moment? Is each second precious? Many questions asked and answered in this inspirational, touching drama. Whew! It gave me the willies.

This drama had a few actors that I like that I've seen in many other dramas that I've watched. There will definitely be reviews on these guys in the future!

Kubozuka Yosuke

I saw this picture and drooled! He doesn't even look anything close to this in the drama. Yowza!! This was the first drama that I have seen him in. I did a little research and he has recieved 2 Japanese awards that equal that to the Oscar for his character in a movie called Go!. Wow!

Okay, his time was coming. I should have posted about this dude sooner. First of all, he's good friends with certain members of a "boy" band that I've come to like a LOT. He's in Nobuta wo Produce with Kame! And, well, dang it....he's awesome in this movie!

Yamada Takayuki

I love this guy! He's been in many other dramas and movies I've seen. He's very talented. He'll be around for a long, long, long, long time. I just got done watching him in H2. I'll be reviewing that soon enough. LOL! He reminds me of a male version of Jody Foster.

Tsumabuki Satoshi

Hmm? What can I say about this guy? I've been very impressed with him. Most of the dramas I've seen him in..he's the rebellious, tough, endearing, sweet guy. Again, in this drama, he didn't fail to disappoint.
