On a sunny afternoon, Kit and Chul-soo were eating ice cream on top of a car’s hood. The girls were looking good and their best friend Crocodile had gone into marine reserves’ training. Hippo visits to consult with crocodile about a new drug trade, but crocodile had already left. Hippo looks for someone to work for him where the two scums come into play. From then on, things head downhill. They’re asked to pay the price for the lost bag of dope and later become accused of stealing the bag.

Whatever… They decide to run for life with a bag of coke that can make them rich.



This movie was all over the place. Okay the beginning was a little messed up, it came together, then got weirder and weirder and weirder. Gotta love Jang Hyuk. Damn, he's funny but can be so serious but when he's funny....he's funny. I love his facial expressions. They are so over exaggerated. LOL! But yet that is just him. Ya know?

Anyway, this movie was fun but don't expect this story to make sense. It was just a hoopla of corny situations, drugs, some fighting (but nothing you'd expect...not Jackie Chan style), sex (oh yes, we get to see Hyuk in all his muscular glory), some funny moments (LOL! Cheol-su has only one testicule).

I think most will like this movie but then some will probably hate it. I think this movie is just for those of us who love Jang Hyuk and Bong Tae Gyu (yeah, he's in it too). This movie is definitely a boredom buster...................

He's the only son of a mother who runs a hair salon while also being the "best fighter" of Moonduk High School. His name's Joong-pil, and his days are really tough. But the most important part of his day is going to school. Firstly, to meet the expectations of his followers and to frequently make his presence known, he has to fight other groups trying to take over his position. He also has to look after the rooftop of the school building which is used as their hideout.
But one day, Cupid's arrow unexpectedly strikes Joong-pil's heart who before had nothing to worry about and fear. It's Min-hee, the prettiest girl of the neighborhood girls high school, Jeonglan. But not long before his pink puppy love starts, his cozy life becomes threatened by a newcomer. One day, Joong-pil hears that a transfer student named Sang-man suddenly appeared like a gushing storm and wants to take over the school. Not only the students, but even his righthand man Soo-dong try to incite a fight between Joong-pil and Sang-man, which would become a legend in itself. But strangely enough, Joong-pil seems to avoid getting into a fight with Sang-man. But two kings can¡¯t exist in one land, and the showdown draws closer...

Okay, this was toooooooo cute. I loved the story. Okay and I just love Ryoo Seung Beom.

The action wasn't all that but it really wasn't about that. The "king" of the school falls in love with a nerdy girl from another school. He slowly changes and does whatever he can to meet her and be with her. I really think the changes were a bit much for him because I don't really see that in modern society a person would change that much. But it was nice to see a guy go all out for a girl that wouldn't be a typical ideal for a guy of his stature.

There were many funny moments, this was a comedy ya know? Bong Tae-gyu was a hoot, as usual, who was a porno fiend. He and his friends made their own porno comics and sold them to other students. The antics they went through was hilarious.

This was a happy movie with an interesting twist at the end. Not what I expected but it wasn't a crappy ending....thank the Lord!!

When Romance Meets Destiny (Gwangshiki dongsaeng gwangtae / 광식이 동생 광태 -2005)

Roughly divided into three equal parts, film kicks off with the decade-long inability of mild-mannered photographer Gwang-shik (Kim Ju-hyeok) to express his love for high-school sweetheart Yun-gyeong (Lee Yo-weon). When Yun-gyeong is ready to make her affections plain, Gwang-shik's drunken brother, Gwang-tae (Bong Tae-gyu), accidentally foils their romantic progress. Second chapter discloses Gwang-tae has little problem bedding babes, but his pursuit of sexy and intellectual marathon runner Gyeong-jae (Kim Ah-jung) reveals he's emotionally stunted. Final section blends the two strands. Helming is inventive and astute, though the script lags slightly as meller elements gain ascendancy. Performances all ring true, and tech package is up to the usual Korean high standard. -- Variety


This movie started out with a bang and ended with a "WTH?" I'm so dissappointed with this movie. I watched this in the hopes of some sweet romance and comedy. Oh yeah, it had that in abundance but I didn't quite like the feeling of being betrayed at the end.

Viewers in movies go in hopes of trading their lives for hope, peace, and enjoyment while spent in a theater lost in the new world of cinema. Okay, so I wasn't in a theater but in my living room lounged on my sofa while my kids run amok and my mother lies on the other sofa reading a book. But I'm still lost in the world of cinema via my high-speed internet computer.

So I'm laying there, anticipation abound. I enjoyed the first half of the movie and my hopes are leaping and my heart is pounding waiting for Gwang-shik to finally confess his love. We are almost there....almost....almost....he's at the alter....arm outstretched....palm is up....reaching....reaching......he grabs the microphone??????? WTF!??!

I won't give away the rest of the end of the movie but lets just say that both brothers got screwed in the end and so did the viewers. Romance my ass!!!!

Why can't the Korean romance/drama writers give us a happy ending? Is that tooooo much to ask for? I'd say that 1 out of every 20 movies, Korean movies, have happy endings. Why do I even watch? It's like the lottery....you hope you get the winning ticket........................

Two Faces of My Girlfriend (두 얼굴의 여친 -2007)

Gu-chang leads a tragic existence. The seventh-year college student constantly fails job interviews and lives off of an allowance from his divorced sister while taking money from his little nephew. To make matters worse, the almost 30-year-old virgin has never had a girlfriend, let alone experienced his first kiss. In Korean, Gu-chang is a homonym for the word meaning "a sore in the mouth."
But springtime finally seems to have arrived for Gu-chang, defrosting the stark winters of his barren love life, when he meets the sweet and innocent A-ni.

All seems to be swell, and Gu-chang gets a taste of heaven as he kisses his pretty girlfriend for the first time -- until A-ni bites his tongue and gives him a nice kick, introducing herself as Ha-ni. And so begins Gu-chang's painful relationship with his split-personality girlfriend, dealing with A-ni's adorably childish demeanors one moment, then defending his life from Ha-ni's high kicks.


Bong Tae Gyu is another comedic genius. He was made for comedy. Not an overly good-looking guy but the way he handles himself in the situations given make him the cutest ever. LOL!

I think I bypassed this movie a hundred times because I thought it would be stupid. Not funny. In actuality, again I goofed. It was quite hilarious but yet sweet. You can't help but feel for Gu-chang who is desperate to have his first kiss. His first anything really with the girl he loves.

And who knew it would get quite serious near the end. There was actually a really good drama at the end to tug your heart. But in the end, Gu-chang won! Woo-hoo! Maybe there is somebody out there for everybody. We just have to wait and see what the fates have in store for us.........

A Tale of Legendary Libido (Garujigi/가루지기-2008)

Hidden in the ancient Korean folklore lies a tragic character with a massive inferiority complex. Byun’s problem stems from his seriously impaired libido, and to make matter worse, the entire village knows about it. But as fate would have it, he chance encounters a monk from the mountain and gains the ultimate male power of never-ending erection and arousal. Around this time all men are grouped and sent off to war and only Byun remains to satisfy the women of the village who are only happy to line up outside Byun’s home and quench their sexual desires and fantasies!

I don't know if I like this or not.

There were some really good parts to this tale. The story gives the impression that it's about a guy, Byun, with a small "ho-hum". He's ridiculed in public for it while his brother is well-endowed. He happens to save an old man and his apprentice who were caught in a trap. The old man, who knows all, told him about the story of a potion that would cure his "problem". Excited, he leaves without hearing the entire tale, and instead of sipping just a bit of potion drinks the whole thing.

Now this starts out as a comedy but then it kept going back and forth from funny to not funny out all. All out serious is how I took it. Byun was tormented for so long that his trust in women is wary.

Now to my trained eye, you would think this was about Byun. But no. This story is about Yin and Yang. The balance of this village was off and there was too much Yin. The potion Byun drank was Yang. After drinking so much, the balance tipped over to the other side and the village was plagued with drought. To save the village, Byun had to be sacrificed to a bear.

It sounds complicated in parts and I'm leaving some parts out. This movie was heavy on the sex and showing of certain femail body parts. But in all, it was pretty good but I wished they could have kept a Yin and Yang balance on the story. It flipped flop from funny to serious and no in-between that messed with the flow of the movie.
