Lee Kang Hyun is a manager at a company that sets up people who have been divorced with dates. She meets a divorce attorney, Park Hyun Soo, and they begin a relationship with each other.
OMG! One of the only Korean dramas that I watched with whole hearted anticipation. The love quadrangle was simple. It didn't piss me off. It was actually believable. And there weren't any "bitches" or "bastards" I wanted to just shoot off! That usually blows my Korean drama experience when that happens.
I wasn't totally in love with the actress who played Kang-hyun. She was too anorexic looking and the hair was pitiful. She was pretty in a way but yet....well....just not right. On the other hand Kim Ji Hoon was so right for the part of Hyun-soo. Damn! He was gorgeous and was just perfect for the part! *drools*
I won't give away too much about the ending but I cried. Oh God, I cried. Let's just say it dealt with Superman and his super human powers. It was just a wonderful and original ending. I loved it. Oh yeah! I LOVED IT!
This drama is a must see! You'll fall in love like I did. It was perfect in every way and the ending was refreshing and satisfying. I think I want a love like that............*dreams*.

Shim's Family (좋지 아니한가 /Johji-anihanga -2007)
AKA: Skeletons in the Closet
Starring:
Ho-jin Jeon
Hie-kyung Moon
Hye-su Kim
Ah-in Yu
Bo-ra Hwang
Yu-mi Jeong
Ki-woo Lee
Hyeok-pil Lim
Hae-il Park
The Shims would be in the top five for being indifferent and apathetic for each other and in the top three for lack of love in a family. The five members of the family have absolutely no common ground. The family consists of the cheap, stubborn mom (MOON Hee-kyung) and the father (CHUN Ho-jin) who is down because of her, their son Yong-tae (YOO Ah-in) who thinks he was a king in his past life and their daughter Yong-sun (HWANG Bo-ra) to whom existence itself is a mystery, and the out of work comic book writer aunt (KIM Hye-soo). Because they share the same blood, they all live awkwardly together in one house. And they wonder time and time again…why they have to live together when they don’t even love each other…
One day, the Shims come face to face with calamity. Mom falls for a guy at the karaoke shop (LEE Ki-woo), Yong-sun meets a teacher (PARK Hae-il) who is more of a mystery than she is, and Yong-tae falls in love with the worst girl (JUNG Yoo-mi) in the universe. But most shocking is Mr. Shim, who is second to none at being cautious and straitlaced, and his most obscene incident! To make matters worst, Yong-gu their playboy dog gets a pure pedigree pup pregnant and the Shims fall in a calamity that could almost make one die from embarrassment….
This was a very good, down-to-earth slice of life (sort of) movie. Ingenioius!
I related to the entire family. Especially the parents. I've been married for a long time and understand how sometimes family life just sort of takes over and married life sits back on the shelf and collects dust. It just happens. The kids rule your everyday life. It's not like you love your spouse less, but sometimes sex justs cools down. I totally understood where that couple was coming from.
Then there was the kids. LOL! I related to them also. LOL! My life was just like theirs growing up.
Being not to overly funny, to downright serious, to not to overly funny again, you would like this movie. I'm sure there is at least one character you can relate too. With just enough class and humor, it's enjoyably fun to watch. And, maybe if you thought your family was insane, this movie might make you think about it again. LOL!

Radio Days (라듸오 데이즈 -2008)

Starring:
Seung-beom Ryoo - Llyod
Jong-hyeok Lee - K
Sa-rang Kim - Marie
Bo-ra Hwang - Myung-wol
Jeong-se Oh - Man-chul
Roe-ha Kim - Mr. Noh (screenwriter)
Ah-sung Ko - Sun-deok
A young radio station manager, Lloyd (Ryoo Seung-beom), undertakes a live drama series which is commissioned by the Japanese rulers. The main voice actors in this show are not professionals. A jazz musician, a courtesan and even a clueless office clerk are invited to perform in the drama, and the scripts are largely ignored, as the actors resort to liberal ad-libbing. Despite the shoddy production quality, the radio show becomes a huge hit. This movie pokes fun at the broadcasting practices of the time, as well as at Japanese rule.
One of the BEST movies I've seen yet. Damn! This was a fresh, refreshing movie. Different. So totally out of the normal Korean spectrum!
Other than my favorite Korean actor ever, Lee Jong Hyuk, being in this movie which in fact adds a zillion kudos...........*sigh*
I don't know what more to say....just get off your asses and watch this movie! It's quirky but not overly funny to make it obnoxious or annoying. It's smartly written and acted. Ryoo Seung Beom was intelligent in his portrayal of Lloyd.
Once this movie makes it to the American market, I'm so on this one in my Asian collection (which I've just recently started......)
I can't say enough about this movie. Damn, it rocked!!!
I'll lay off the Jong Hyuk pics for awhile....LOL! I can't get enough of him and I know there are more to come........*sigh*
